I’ve spent years measuring it against roads that were never meant for me.
I’ve known the sting of comparison,

It’s easy to believe that someone else’s opportunity would have unlocked our own greatness.
But life doesn’t work in duplicates.
It was never designed that way.
We weren’t meant to have identical chances, identical stories, identical destinies.
We weren’t meant to mirror each other’s victories or pace.
Still, the world trains us to compare,
to hold our lives up against our neighbor’s
and declare our own unworthy if it doesn’t shine the same way.
But the truth is softer,
and far more powerful.
Someone else’s success does not diminish mine, and mine does not diminish theirs.
Success is not a limited resource,
It's a reflection of the path we walked to reach it. It’s shaped by how far we’ve come,
how deeply we’ve stretched,
and what wisdom we gathered in the struggle.
My journey doesn’t need to look like my neighbor’s to be meaningful.
It never should.
When we set comparison down and learn to praise others freely,
something shifts.
We begin to see how distinct and essential each story is.
We start to understand that the strength of a community is not found in sameness,
but in the variety of gifts and paths that stand side by side.

Yes.
Maybe I could have reached certain heights if I’d been handed different opportunities.
